A report from a Hezbollah-affiliated network: “The IDF has advanced along the Lebanese border to the Damascus area”
The Lebanese network “Al-Mayadeen”, affiliated with Hezbollah, reported from sources in Syria that “the IDF has advanced to the Dimas area, located in the Damascus countryside, along the Lebanese border.”
The American general who relies on MAZAT visited Syria: “We will meet with rebel forces”
The commander of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), General Michael Korilla, visited Syria. CENTCOM announced that the Middle East is within its area of responsibility. The general visited the US military forces in the country, as well as the “Free Syrian Army”, a rebel organization referred to in the command announcement as “the United States’ partner in defeating ISIS”. He was given an overview of the forces’ efforts to prevent the spread of ISIS, in the shadow of the fall of the government of dictator Bashar Assad. Kurila also visited Iraq and met with Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani and the Iraqi Chief of Staff in Baghdad.
Rebel leader: “Western fears about the situation in Syria are unnecessary – the country will be rebuilt”
Abu Muhammad al-Jolani, leader of the Syrian rebel organization Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, has addressed Western concerns about the situation in Syria following the fall of dictator Bashar Assad’s regime. “This fear is unnecessary, with the help of Allah this country will be rebuilt,” he told a Sky News reporter, in his first appearance before a Western media outlet since the government was overthrown. “The fear was the presence of the regime. The country is moving towards development and reconstruction. It is moving towards stability. The people are exhausted by the war.”
